Festival Ballet at Nathan Bishop

This week, members from Festival Ballet Providence’s company will be meeting with our seventh graders in preparation for their attendance at their production of “Juxtapose” which is taking place next week.  During the presentations, corps de ballet members demonstrate and explain to the students what they will be seeing to making it a comprehensible and exciting experience for them.  These very special presentations, tickets for students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade and transportation to the ballet production to and from Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium are all the result of a grant written by Festival Ballet Providence with help from our Music Teacher, Debra Viau.  The grant was awarded by Lifespan through its Community Outreach program at Miriam Hospital.  (You should have seen a permission slip in your child’s backpack for this event!).  We are grateful to FBP and Ms. Viau for this amazing opportunity!!!

A Book Fair at Nathan Bishop

Here is a message from our School Librarian Jim Barrett –

Parents we are holding a book fair in the library the week of 3/9 to 3/13. Any parent who visits the library will have their name entered into a raffle for free books and prizes. No purchase is necessary. This year we are able to cover the taxes normally charged to students because of faculty/staff dress down days that generated donations to cover anticipated taxes. (Credit card purchases will still have tax applied).

Parents please look for a brochure with available titles in your child’s backpack this week.
